My Background & Story
I initially qualified as a paediatric nurse from Kingston University back in 2007 and since then I have worked in a range of jobs in sales, from personal banking to the medical sector.
My full-time career started in 2010 in the field of endoscopy field services for a private medical company for 8 years, I was successful ending up as a regional service manager. I then went on to work in field sales orthopaedics for a power tool company and then into the highly competitive field of sports medicine – have you seen an ACL being replaced? – let me tell you, it’s pretty cool!
These jobs meant a hell of a lot of travelling up and down the country! During this time, I juggled working as a fitness instructor, coaching and training myself before making the final decision to start my own project and here we are – Power & Pole was born!
Power & Pole Ltd (P&P) was set up in October 2019 and The Power Circle community established in January 2020. After spending one year, designing and creating content for the community, the App was built and launch of the community ready in October 2020.
The aim of P&P is to create a community app that is warm, welcoming and fully inclusive. The mission is to enlighten people, so they understand how important they are as an individual in this society. This is a community fitness network for EVERYONE.
Power & Pole aims to use the stories behind YOUR fitness journey to inspire others. What has led you on your mission to improve your physical and mental health?
I started my fitness journey back in 2012, by attending Pole Dancing classes to keep fit. The thought of stepping into a gym was very daunting and intimidating. I was a sprinter in my teenage years at school, so I knew I was athletic – just needed to find my new fitness fix!
Approximately one year after starting Pole lessons, the time came to gain more strength to assist with the ever increasing difficulty of the pole moves. I joined a gym, picked up a barbell and haven’t looked back since, even taking it a step further and quitting my long-term career in corporate to help people as a fitness instructor and coach.
Being better at executing difficult pole moves was the reason behind my pursuit of strength. Pole dancing was the start of my journey, which led to an interest in strength training and subsequently competitive Powerlifting. You can read more about my powerlifting career and achievements here.
Everyone has their reasons, which are personal to them for improving or changing their own lifestyle. The REASON behind your choices, are just as important as what you have chosen to do. The REASON is the driving factor and can directly influence how committed you are to those choices. Pole was my reason, what’s yours?
If you decide to join us, I want to personally welcome you to the community. I look forward to being there on your journey of mental and physical happiness.

The heart of Power & Pole is The Power Circle. This is an online and app based members fitness network. It is for everyone and anyone interested in getting stronger with a sense of community. This is a unique approach to gaining confidence in and out of the gym and covers a variety of strength training.
It includes strength-based training programmes, in an easy to follow course format and your very own online profile. Members can arrange different activities within the Circle, this is a platform that people can use to actually meet and enjoy training together, also they can try new things!
There are regular group meet-ups in the Circle, with opportunities to try a variety of new activities, for example: Strongman, Powerlifting, Bouldering and Cycling. Seminars and events focussed on physical, mental health and powerlifting are held across the country.
